Northern Virginia Urban League Young Professionals Network thanks you for attending Black Opal: Celebrating a New Generation of Leaders! Your presence helped fund our outstanding service programs including College Survival 101, backpack drive, and Patrick Henry Shelter.

This year, Black Opal took "Going Green" to a new level with Palm Leaf Plates courtesy of Kwai Home, Bamboo Utensils, Compostable Paper Straws, and Plant-Based Compostable Cups provided by Susty Party. We danced the night away in a green building and took a spin in a luxury electric car! Even our
"extras" were green! Our silent auction was filled with sustainable prizes from a stay at a luxury LEED certified resort to an organic skin care kit. Of course, we can't forget our awards finalist. We had six amazing finalists that excel in the field of sustainability.

Thank you again for attending Black Opal and we look forward to seeing you at Black Opal 2014!

Black Opal is an awards gala/black-tie reception. The event serves as the primary fundraiser for the Northern Virginia Urban League Young Professionals Network (NVULYPN). The funds raised by Black Opal support our various programs including College Survival, Political Forum, and Opportunity to Thrive.
